One of my favourite pubs in Conwy is The Gladstone Arms at Dwygyfylchi.
Situated just off the roundabout of the A55 at junction 16 for Penmaenmawr/Dwygyfychi and in clear view of travellers as they head along the A55 you feel as if it is hiding in plain sight.
I’ve now been three or four times and every time has been good, not only just in terms of food but also service and atmosphere. It is definitely on my list of favourite places to eat and if it was my local I would definitely be a regular.
Sat in the restaurant you are treated to wonderful views across Conwy Bay towards the Great Orme, Anglesey and Puffin Island and it is made even more stunning if you are there when the sun sets.
So far I have managed to just turn up and managed to get a table but I’m sure there are times when you probably should book.
They’ve also got a great terrace and I’m looking to getting down there in the summer for a beer as the world hurtles pass and if I do I’m hoping I can get a lift so that I can have more than just the normal one!
On the subject of beer they are in the CAMRA good food and beer guide and it is good to see that they always have at least one ale from a Welsh brewery as well!
The next time you are driving pass try and make the time to stop off.
