There can be no better way to discover an area than through walking and with the number of walking festivals that are held in North Wales there really is no excuse not to get out and explore.
However I have found out about them by chance and so in one post I have collated the ones I know about. Most of them are weekends with the exception of Barmouth which is a ten day festival and Conwy which previously has been twice a year but this year it is monthly up until June.
Most of the festivals appear to have both a website and a Facebook page. So in chronological order:
Cerdded Conwy Walks: At the time of writing this post they have only published the dates for the walks which can be found at http://www.cerddedconwywalks.org/ or https://www.facebook.com/cerddedconwywalks/
Trefriw Walking Festival: 18 – 20 May. This looks to be one of the most established in that they have all the walks published on their website and booking will be available from 15 March. They also seem to have something for everyone from the novice to the hard core walker. Their website is http://www.trefriwwalkingfestival.co.uk/
Prestatyn Walking Festival: 18 – 20 May. Unfortunately the same weekend as the Trefriw festival. At the time of writing there are no details of the walks but their Website is http://prestatynwalkingfestival.co.uk/ and for their Facebook page it is https://www.facebook.com/groups/778548152222951/
Corwen Walking Festival: 1- 2 Sept. They have already published the planned walks on their website and you can book them now: http://corwenwalkingfestival.co.uk/
Snowdonia Walking Festival: At present no dates set for 2018 but the last two years it was in early November. Like their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/snowdoniawalkingfestival/
Have a great time walking and discovering North Wales in 2018!
